Map the path before checking the tool
Write the complete path: traffic source, campaign identifier, landing page, funnel step, checkout or lead system, conversion event, revenue value, and the platform that must receive the result.
An integration is successful only if that path remains traceable end to end.
ClickMagick's public connection options
The current product page describes all traffic sources and ad platforms, website and store builders, autoresponders, CRMs, webinar platforms, affiliate-network postbacks, custom webhooks, Zapier, and a REST API.
That is a broad claim. Confirm your named product, event direction, authentication, latency, and plan access with current documentation or support.
Cross-domain and checkout paths need explicit testing
Google's cross-domain documentation shows why user and session identity can split across domains unless measurement is configured correctly. The same practical risk applies whenever traffic moves across landing pages, carts, booking systems, or external offer destinations.
Use a test click with a unique campaign value and verify every report in the path.
Define failure before launch
Record what happens when a webhook fails, a postback is duplicated, a browser blocks data, an ad cost is delayed, or a checkout removes parameters.
The trial should include a failure-and-recovery test, not only a successful demo conversion.
Validate the handoff between systems
An integration is not complete when accounts connect; it is complete when the right event, value, campaign identifier, and timestamp survive the handoff. Create a small test matrix for each critical connection: expected input, expected output, success case, duplicate case, delayed case, and missing-parameter case. Confirm both sides of the connection rather than relying on a green status indicator.
Record ownership and recovery. Decide who notices failures, where alerts appear, how events are replayed or corrected, and which report remains authoritative during an outage. For revenue events, include refund or cancellation behavior so gross conversions are not mistaken for durable value. Re-test after major platform, checkout, or consent changes.
- Test values and identifiers, not just connection status.
- Include duplicate, delay, and missing-data cases.
- Assign an owner and outage source of truth.
- Re-test after checkout, platform, or consent changes.
